Raymond Charles Hughes, age 41 and a resident of Saucier, MS, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in Gulfport.
Ray was born on September 6, 1967 in Wellsboro, PA. He attended both Owego High School and Gulfport High School. He enjoyed wrestling and baseball. Ray was a trim Carpenter and a member of the Extended Hands Assembly of God Church. Ray was recently saved by the Grace of Jesus Christ. He had given his testimony to many people and organizations in and around the Gulfport area. He was the head of the Extended Hands Assembly of God Men's Ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Latrice Ladella Hughes; sons, Raymond Hughes of Fernly, NV; Brandon Hughes, recent enlistee of the United States Marine Corps; daughter, Skylar Hoffhower, husband Brian, and grandson Riley; his mother, Annamarie Covert Hampton, step-father Billy; and his father, R. Kenneth Warren, step-mother Lilia; adopted-Father, Donald Hughes; grandmothers, Ellen Gerow of Wellsboro, PA, and Lora Hughes of Endicott, NY; brothers, Richard Hughes, wife Christina and their five children, Ryan Huges, of Hendersonville, TN and his three children; sisters Amanda Hughes of New York, and Sarah Warren of Saucier, grandfathers, Verne Covert and William Hughes.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 from 12Noon until 2pm at Extended Hands Assembly of God Church. Service will be held at 2pm at the church. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery. The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNRAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport is in charge of the arrangements.
A Memorial fund hs been established at Extended Hands Assembly of God in Raymond's honor; 16427 Shaw Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503.
