Raymond """"Kenneth"""" Garner, age 81, and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey E. Garner; his parents, Manfield E. Garner and Nancy Dill Garner; and his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Garner is survived by his son, Freddie W. Burkhalter and his wife, Carol, of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren, Paul Burkhalter of Fayetteville, NC, Keith Burkhalter and Stephanie M. Page and her husband, David, all of San Diego, CA, Cheryl Huster and her husband, Keith, of Fairview Heights, IL, and Eloice Y. Calcagno and her husband, Robert, of Minot AFB, ND; thirteen great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
Mr. Garner was a member of Trinity Bible Church at River Oaks, Biloxi. He was a Navy veteran, and a Seaman with Dixie Carrier for many years before retiring in 1991.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Bible Church at River Oaks, 9095 W. Oaklawn Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 11:15 AM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10:30 AM until service time. Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
