Mr. Raymond L. Franz, age 86, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mr. Franz was born in Staunton, Illinois on December 7, 1921. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946, and retired from Civil Service at Keesler Air Force Base after 21 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Long Beach, was a Ham Radio Operator, and enjoyed working in his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Martha Franz.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hilda Franz of Gulfport; daughter, Rebecca Sue """"Becky"""" Franz of Gulfport; 3 brothers, Edgar Franz of Jacksonville, IL, Alvin Franz of Godfrey, IL, and Kenny Franz of Columbia, SC; and a special friend, W.E. """"Bill"""" Billington of Ocean Springs.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, at 10:00 a.m., where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
