Mr. Ray Dean Marks, age 86 and a resident of Diamondhead, died on December 31, 2006 in Diamondhead.
Mr. Marks was born on August 28, 1920 in Lauderdale City, Alabama and was retired as an engineer with Reynolds Aluminum. Mr. Marks was a charter member of the Edgemont United Methodist Church in Florence, Alabama. He was also a member of Florence Masonic Lodge #14 and had recently received his 50 year award from the lodge. His other interests included being an avid fisherman and a great supporter of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. """"Mr. Marks was a loving husband, father and grandfather.""""
Mr. Marks is preceded in death by his parents, Clora Ellis and Jim Marks; brothers, Neal, James, Owen, and Robert; and by his sisters, Nadine, Earline and Lucille.
His survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Joy Marks of Diamondhead; two children, Thomas L. Marks and his wife, Deborah of Norcross, GA., Peggy Williams and her husband, John of Diamondhead; grandchildren and spouses, Chip and Lisa Williams, Deanna and Devin Feckoury, Kimberly and Timothy Gridley, Kelley Williams, Lynn and David Lacas and Jessica Marks; and by 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Edgemont United Methodist Church in Florence, AL, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Greenview Cemetery in Florence.
