Ray Brayden Buchholz, a radiant spirit born on a full moon, October 22, 2021, in Biloxi, MS, gained his little angel wings to dance in the Heavens, on a full moon, December 15, 2024, in New Orleans Children's Hospital, New Orleans, LA, leaving behind cherished memories and an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
From the very beginning, Ray’s infectious smile and joyful nature brought light into the lives of those around him. He never met a stranger; everyone he encountered was welcomed with open arms and often left feeling they had made a lifelong friend. His incredible strength, courage, and resilience were evident in everything he did, and he served as a remarkable example to others.
Ray had many interests that filled his days with joy. He had a particular fascination with dinosaurs and was often found exploring the great outdoors, embodying the spirit of an adventurer. He loved nothing more than dancing in the kitchen with his best friend, his sister Hazel LeeAnne, with music flowing through their home and laughter echoing in their hearts. A passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers, Ray enjoyed watching games with family, his enthusiasm unwavering. Those who were fortunate enough to receive one of his famous hugs were truly blessed, for they were always filled with warmth and affection.
Ray is survived by his loving mother, Raven Cruz Buchholz, and devoted father, Samuel Brayden Buchholz. His sister, Hazel LeeAnne Buchholz, age 6, will forever hold onto the wonderful memories they created together. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Theodore "Doug" and Heidi Trice of Scio, Ohio, and Francisco (Michelle) Cruz of Douglas, AZ; as well as his paternal grandparents, Randy Ray Buchholz and Laura Ann Buchholz both of Colorado. Additionally, his extended family includes uncles Sebastian (Samantha) Cruz of AZ, Douglas "Raine" Trice of Ohio and Jake Mayes of Colorado; aunts Emalee Suzanne Mayes and Miranda Rae Buchholz both of Colorado; cousins Maddie Sedgmer of Ohio, and Willow June Mayes of Colorado; and great aunt Tiffany (Will) Sedgmer of Ohio.
Ray ascended to the heavens on a gentle December day, where it is said he gained his angel wings and began dancing among the stars. His vibrant spirit, boundless energy, and loving heart will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation to honor and celebrate Ray’s life will be held on December 19, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both at Mosaic Church, located at 2016 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
Memorials can be made to Children's Hospital New Orleans, LCMC Health, Hematology and Oncology, 200 Henry Clay Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118.
