Rashell Burkley

Rashell Delores Burkley, age 82, of Gulfport and formerly of Vicksburg, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017.
She was born in Lorman, MS, to J.C. Caston, Sr. and Margaret Williams Caston. She was a retired chef, having worked at the famous Maxwell's Restaurant in Vicksburg.  Upon her retirement, the Vicksburg Evening Post featured a special story about her lengthy and successful career.  She will be remembered as a loving, Christian lady who devoted her life to Christ, her family, and her career.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Burkley, Jr.; her parents; her son, Darrell Burkley; and siblings, Alvin and James Caston.
She is survived by her children, Sherrell Burkley of Gulfport, Anthony Burkley (Teresa) of Jackson, Dale Burkley (Nancy) of Kenneth City, FL, Gerald Burkley (Sharlotte) from Houston, TX; siblings, J.C. Caston, Jr. of Michigan, Roscoe Corneliues Caston of Michigan, Leonia Smith of Michigan, Annie Laura Barker of Michigan, Cecile Reynolds of Michigan; grandchildren, Marcus, Adriene, Alexandra, Sharmayne, and Brianna; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Carmia, Ayben, Brielle; and her extended family, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 16, 2017, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 12-2 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in Finley Cemetery.  Following the burial there will be a reception in the Reception Center at the funeral home.
