Rankin Rester

Rankin ""Freddie"" Rester, Sr., age 78, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011, in Gulfport, MS.
He was born in Silver Creek, MS and lived most of his life in Gulfport. Mr. Rester served in the U.S. Navy and later retired from the Gulfport Fire Department after 20 years of service. He also worked for Yellow Cab Co. for 45 years. He enjoyed fishing and working.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Wayne Rester, his wife, Frances Cavanaugh Rester, and his parents, Rankin and Julia Rester.
Survivors include 2 sons, Ricky Rester and Mike Rester, 2 grandchildren, Crystal Rester (Jordan) Stafford and Bryan F. Rester, and 1 great-grandchild, Luke Stafford.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 6 - 8 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. A graveside service will be Wednesday at 10:30 at St. Peters Cemetery in Bassfield.
