Ralph Calvert Rigley, 88 of Bossier City, LA, safely arrived on heaven’s shores and was greeted by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 20, 2020.

He was born December 30, 1931 in Portsmouth, OH to Elmer and Virginia Rigley who preceded him in death. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Lydia. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Herman and Glen, and his sisters, Margie, Dottie, and Mary Elaine.

He is survived by his three children, Ralph Randall, Larry Jay (Patti), and Michelle Trowbridge. He is survived by his 8 grandchildren: Jessica (Jason) Kane, Jennifer (Joseph) Manzoni, Julie (Charlie) Laliberte, Amanda Clark, Kaitlyn (Chas) Rigley , Andrew Rigley, Cameren Trowbridge, and Brandon Trowbridge. He was, also, blessed with 9 great grandchildren,: Noah, Joseph, MacKenzie, Olivia, Nickolaus, Emerie, Rose, Grace, and James. He is also survived by 2 great great grandchildren: Bryce and Lydia. He is survived, as well, by his sisters: Doris, Shirley, and Janet and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graduating from Portsmouth High School in 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After 20 years of service, he retired and relocated to Biloxi, MS. He worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding in New Orleans, Avondale in Pascagoula, and Jon Stennis Space Center in Hancock County. He was a member of Bay Vista Baptist Church where he enjoyed being part of the choir and serving as a deacon.

He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a Shriner for over 55 years. He also served as Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star for a time.

After the death of his wife, Lydia, he moved to Bossier City, LA where he was a member of Barksdale Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA until his death.

Visitation will be Friday, June 26th from 10 to 11 am followed by the funeral service at 11 am at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS.  Out of respect for the current pandemic’s social distancing and reduced gathering guidelines, attendance is limited to 50 people.  Interment will take place at Biloxi National Cemetery where attendance is limited to 10 family members. Masks are required at the funeral home and cemetery.

The funeral service at 11am will be live streamed on the funeral home website. The online guestbook may be signed, and memories and photos shared at www.riemannfamily.com
