Mr. Ralph Benjamin Deakle, age 78, resident of Gulfport, went to meet his Creator on Saturday, April 9, 2011, surrounded by loved ones.
Mr. Deakle was born in Mobile, AL on March 23, 1933 to Ollie and Mary Foley Deakle. He was a longtime resident of Gulfport, served his country in the Korean War in the U.S. Army, and retired from the Civil Service. ""Paw Paw"" was known for his generous spirit, love of sports, sense of humor, and his devout Catholic faith and dedication to St. James Catholic Church.
Mr. Deakle was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Deakle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Janice; his children, Donna Deshamp (Rick), David, and Casey (Vicky), and Ashley Corish Murphy (granddaughter); his brothers and sisters, June Venable, Kay Chapman, John Deakle, and Angela Mitchell; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 14, 2011, at St. James Catholic Church, at 11 a.m. Friends may visit an hour prior to Mass.
