Ralph Bosarge, Sr.

Ralph Jefferson Bosarge, Sr.  was called home to Heaven on Saturday, March 12, 2022. He passed away peacefully at his home in McHenry, MS surrounded by his loved ones.

Ralph Bosarge, Sr. was born in Gulfport, MS on December 17, 1946, to the late Joseph E. Bosarge, Sr. and Catherine Herrin Bosarge. Ralph was the youngest of 9 children with 8 boys and only 1 girl.

Mr. Bosarge married Beryl Irene Underwood Bosarge on December 29, 1967. Irene preceded him in death and Ralph was looking forward to being with her in eternity. He was blessed with 2 children, Treasie Bosarge Herrin (Andrew) of McHenry and Ralph J. Bosarge II (Jill) of Saucier. Mr. Bosarge had 3 surviving grandchildren, Jonathan Parker, Katie Parker, and Addie Bosarge. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Trae Patterson. The 2 youngest loves were his great grandchildren, Sarid and Leona Ali.  Mr. Bosarge was loved by all his family and will forever be missed by them.

Ralph Bosarge, Sr. took great pride in serving in the United Sates Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. For his combat service, he earned 8 awards/decorations including, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Palm, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Marksman Badge(M-14), Combat Infantry Badge, and 2 Overseas Bars.  Mr. Bosarge’s most honored award was the Purple Heart.  Of course, he didn’t want to be thought of as being heroic.  Yet, he deserves recognition for achieving such honors.

A funeral to celebrate the life of Ralph Bosarge, Sr. is planned for Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home on Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, MS. A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM and the service will begin at 10:00 AM. The Interment will be held at McHenry Gardens Cemetery.
