Rachel Jean Landry, age 95, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010, in Gunter, TX.
Mrs. Landry was born January 9, 1915, in Naperville, IL. She was a resident of Aurora, IL until 1946, when she and her family moved to Gulfport where she resided untill she was evacuated to Texas after Hurricane Katrina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alpha J. Landry; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol L. and Anthony J. Jiminez; her mother and step-father, Helen Erickson Matter Foran and John P. Foran; her father and step-mother, Walter W. and Lydia H. Matter; and her brothers, Cyril O., Wendell W., and Robert B. Matter.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Arvah C. McClendon of Gulfport; a son and daughter-in-law, Alpha E. and Patricia S. Landry of Sherman, TX; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 2 p.m. Friends may visit one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
