Mrs. Rachel Mosley Cruthirds, age 78, resident of Lumberton, MS, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Mrs. Cruthirds was born in Gulfport to the late William and Eppie Morgan Mosley. She was a lifelong resident of the Coast until Hurricane Katrina destroyed her home. She had been very involved in various organizations, including the VFW, and the DAV, where she served as a past Chaplain and Past Commander of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and former member of Pass Road Baptist Church. She was a member of Christ Gospel Church in Lumberton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodford D. Cruthirds; sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her children, Ray Pate of FL, Joyce Dedeaux (J.B.) of Perkinston, Janice Rogers (George) of Ennis, TX, Debra Lee (Fred) of Lumberton, and Doris Easley (Robert) of Lumberton; 15 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 6-9 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
