Rachel H. Clayton, age 76, of Biloxi, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
Rachel was born in Winslow, Arizona, on February 25, 1944, to Joaquin and Ophelia Hernandez. She graduated high school in Flagstaff, Arizona and attended the University of Long Beach in Long Beach, California. She worked for the Mississippi Housing Authority and the Grand Casino in Biloxi.
Rachel enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing bingo. She was a member of the VFW Post 2539 where she served as Auxiliary President for one term, and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. Rachel was active in the St. James Catholic Church. She was a Carmelite Nun.
Rachel was always cheerful and willing to offer help wherever she could. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin and Ophelia Hernandez, and her father and mother-in-law, Mancil and Fay Clayton.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael Y. Clayton of Biloxi; her sisters, Bertha Ann (Gordon) Anderson, Ruth Lee, and Brenda (Manual) Baca; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of close friends.

Funeral services (limited to immediate family) will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at 3:00pm, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00pm. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery.
