Pyburn """"Smokey"""" Ladner, age 71, of Dedeaux Community died on Thursday March 26, 2009, in Bay Saint Louis, MS.
Smokey was a life long resident of Hancock County, he worked for the Hancock County Landfill, and was retired from Turnbull Inc. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Smokey loved fishing, his grandkids, and his family, he was a jokester. He opened his home to many young people over the years. He graduated from Dedeaux High School in 1957, and played basketball. """"He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.""""
Smokey was preceded in death by his parents, Rush and Adrias Ladner, and his brother Eugene Lander. Survivors include his wife, Betty Mae Ladner; his children, Darlene Hill (Greg) of Fulsheard, TX, Wayne Ladner, Sheila Ladner, and Shannon Hoffman all of Dedeaux Community, three sisters, Margie Ladner, Jewel Ladner, and Ella Higgins; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Hoffman, Sheena Hoffman Schultz, Christy Hoffman, Josh Ladner, Amanda Hill, Gregory Hill and Felicia Hoffman.
Visitation will be held from 6pm until 10pm on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at RIEMANN FAMILY HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd, Pass Christian, MS, with Rosary at 8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, March 30, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux Community. Burial will follow in Standard Sandhill Cemetery.
