Preston 'Leo' Vance, age 81, of Gulfport, died on January 26, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Vance was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nellie E. Vance, and two brothers.
He is survived by his children, Mary Bell and Billy Vance, both of Gulfport, and Peggy Wagner of Kiln; two brothers, Wilbern Vance and Charles Vance, both of Gulfport; three sisters, Rosy May Webb of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ellen Melton of Gulfport, and Rene Marlow of Haskel, TX; seven grandchildren; one step grandchild; and twelve great grandchildren.
Mr. Vance was a member of First Baptist Church of Lizana where he helped construct the church building. A craftsman, he built his own shrimp boat and was an avid shrimper. He loved his family.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Lizana where friends may call from 8:30 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Shaw Cemetery.
