Bessie Pauline """"Polly"""" Sigmon Dickerson, age 85, of Gulfport passed away on March 31, 2009 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Dickerson was born in Roanoke County, VA and was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Roanoke. She became a Navy wife when she married in 1953, and was a member of the Chief Petty OfficeraÌ‚â‚â„¢s Wives Club.
Mrs. Dickerson was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Bessie Lee Sigmon; and brothers, Horace and Mack Sigmon. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles """"Rick"""" Dickerson of Gulfport; her sister, Margaret Nienke of Charlotte, NC; a brother-in-law, Curtis N. Dickerson (Jean), of Blue Ridge, VA; and sister-in-law, Martha Joan Lipes (Bill), of Roanoke, VA
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49 N., Gulfport, where friends may visit from 1p.m.-2p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009, at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
