Phyllis "Whitney" Stanbro

Phyllis June Burnett, 84, who married Dennis Charles Stanbro, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in Gulfport.
She was a native of Aurora, IL and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1944. She returned to IL to care for her parents, Frank and Alice Burnett, as they aged. She then moved back to the coast and resided in Pass Christian to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and sang beautifully in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Burnett; her husband, Dennis C. Stanbro; her brother, Gene Burnett (Irene); and daughter, Debra Alice Stanbro.
Survivors include her two sons of Gulfport, Norman A. Stanbro, II (Marie) and Gene Stanbro; grandchildren, Tammie Bean, Wendie Webster, Norman A. Stanbro III (Kristin), Dennis Stanbro II, Natalie M. Stanbro, and Susan S. Stanbro; great-grandchildren, Stevie Bean, Skylar Bean, Slater Bean, Cameron Webster, Brianna Webster and Ava Karen-Marie Stanbro.
She is also survived by her beloved niece, Adriena Cherry (Steve); great niece, Nicole (Brian); and great great niece, Allison Grace Jager.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 12 o'clock Noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
