Phyllis Davis

d. October 29, 2006

Phyllis Ann Davis, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and most of all, friend, passed at her home on Saturday, October 28, 2006.
Words cannot describe what such a dear person meant to all of those who witnessed her caring and loving ways. Her soul desire was to take care of those around her. Over the last couple of years, she struggled to overcome CIDP, yet she never neglected the pleasure in each day's precious giftsÉthe touch of her loving husband, visits and laughter with her children and loving friends, and spending time with her granddaughter and grandson, whom has just recently blessed this family's lives. With the assistance of several special individuals, she was able to grasp each day as golden and rewarding.
Mrs. Davis was born in Amory, MS and later graduated from Long Beach High School. She worked in the accounts payable department for the Department of Marine Resources and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Latimer.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Leila Mae Pennell; brother, Jack Pennell; sister, Arlin Dobbins, and a nephew, Sean Guice.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne B. Davis of Ocean Springs; daughters, Kirsten (Jerry) Wallis and Kellye (Dan) Weinhofer, all of Ocean Springs; son, Brent R. Davis of Ocean Springs; siblings, Billy (Susan) Pennell of Long Beach, Bobby Pennell of Woolmarket, Karen Stanley of Biloxi, Martha (Billy) Paul of Alabama, and Amy Hawkins, Amory; sisters-in-law, Joree Pennell of Ocean Springs and Gwen Guice of D'Iberville; grandchildren, Taylor Wallis, Cohen Weinhofer, and Samantha Weinhofer; nieces and nephews, Cindy Poulos, Shea Guice, Trey Pennell, Corey Pennell, and John Pennell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 10601 Daisy Vestry Road, Latimer, where friends may visit from 12:30-2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the GBS/CIDP Foundation International, Holly Building, 104 1/2 Forrest Avenue, Narberth, PA 19072 or to the Neuropathy Association, 60 East 42nd Street, Suite 942, NY, NY 10165-0999.
