Phyllis Ann Busby, 69, passed away peacefully at home in Gulfport on Friday, August 23, 2008. She was born October 6, 1938 in Sullivan, Indiana. She was one of eight children. The family moved to Dayton, Ohio where Phyllis grew up and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She became a military wife and before settling in Mississippi, lived in California, Massachusetts, Germany, Colorado and Florida. She loved cooking and had a gift for growing beautiful flowers and plants. She loved animals and her little Shih Tzu, Precious. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind, caring and thoughtful person with a sense of humor who always made you feel good. We all love her deeply and always will.
Phyllis was preceded by her parents, Floyd and Lois Barcus, her brothers, Don Barcus and Gene Barcus, her sisters Betty Hannah and Lila Montgomery and her second husband Joe Milewski.
She left behind her loving husband Roger, siblings Charles Barcus (Nancy), Saranell Vandrasik (Don), Bill Barcus (Dee), children Bob Roth (Missy), Doug Roth (Kay), Jody Roth, Mike Milewski (Reneil), grandchildren Robert, Amber, Ashley, Aaron, Richard, Cody and Michala, and great-grandchildren Garrett and Anna and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held at the Nugent United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 13183 John Clark Road in Gulfport at 5:00 pm, Friday, August 29, 2008. In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of her to the Nugent United Methodist Church or a cause dear to Phyllis, The National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
