Peter Nicholas Shambra, age 80, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. Peter was the beloved husband of Pat for the past 50 years and loving father of Pamela Shambra. Peter was a devoted Christian and proud owner of Shambra's Furniture and Appliances in New Orleans for 35 years. He was an avid Saints fan and a WWII veteran.
He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Shambra Schwarz and Lorraine Shambra Burke; nieces, Lee Ann Shambra LeBlanc, Michelle Burke Milonas; nephews, Raymond Schwarz, David Schwarz, Brian Burke and Michael Burke and numerous cousins.
The Shambra family would like to thank the kind and loving care-givers at Quality Hospice and Sunshine Estates who cared so lovingly for Peter in his last days.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 9:30-10:30 at Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Kiln-Delisle Road, and at 10:30 a.m. a Life Celebration Service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Procession will leave the funeral home at 11:10 a.m. going to Annunciation Catholic Church on Kiln-Delisle Road in Kiln for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. The burial will take place at Lake Lawn Metairie in New Orleans at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers masses said at Annunciation Catholic Church, Kiln Delisle Road, Kiln, MS, or donations to St. Vincent de Paul, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS 39507.
