Peter J. Casano, III

Peter J. Casano, III, better known as “Pete” Casano, was born on October 19, 1935 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He attended undergraduate at Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated from Tulane Law School. He moved the family to Pass Christian in 1967 and commuted to New Orleans. He was a respected attorney and businessman who owned hotels and restaurants in New Orleans and Slidell.  Pete was one of the early property owners in Diamondhead and has been a permanent resident since 1983.

Pete is predeceased by his father, Peter Joseph Casano, Jr., his mother, Rachel Toombs Gruber, his daughter, Karen Casano, and his grandson, Peter J. Casano V.

Pete is survived by his wife, Maren, who he loved dearly. They recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary. He is also survived by their two (2) sons, Peter J. Casano, IV and Michael J. Casano (wife, Laurie H. Casano), and by his beloved grandchildren, Kelsey Rose Casano, Marybeth Viener and Andrew Viener.

Peter J. Casano, III passed away on August 24, 2023 with his family in attendance. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Mr. Casano will be 9:00 am - 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Diamondhead. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment is in Live Oak Cemetery.
