Peggy Ruth White

Peggy Ruth White, 82, of Long Beach, MS, formerly of Memphis, TN and member of Highland St. Church of Christ, passed away peacefully at her residence on the evening of April 25, 2011. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Jackson, TN. Mrs. White met her soul mate, Hoyt White, in Union City, TN, and married in 1945. She was the high school beauty queen and he was the captain of the football team. Her passions were her children, family and her church. Mrs. White worked for many years as a dental hygienist and retired as the office manager of a physician's office in Memphis, TN. They later moved to Long Beach, MS where they retired and currently attend Long Beach Church of Christ.
She leaves behind her husband, Minister Hoyt White, her three children, Diane Edrington, (husband, Max) of Long Beach, MS, Mark White, (wife, Kathy) of Memphis, TN, Stan White, (wife, Beth) of Germantown, TN, seven grandchildren, Kirk Edrington, (wife, Louise) of Gulfport, MS, Bonnie Osterhage, (husband, Mike) of San Antonio, TX, Brooke Brewer, (husband, Justin) of Brandon, MS, Allison Winters, (husband, Jared) of Jonesboro, AR, Katie Szostak, (husband, Joe) of Camp Lejeune, NC; and five great-grandchildren.
The family expresses a deep appreciation to her special caregivers, Susan, Ms. Jo, Gloria, and Anna for their love and support.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Long Beach Church of Christ from 5-7 p.m.
Services will be held at the church on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
