Peggy Pittman

Peggy Ann Pittman, age 88, peacefully passed away at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents Francis “Son” and Burnice Torries; 6 brothers; 2 sisters; her husband “Red” Pittman; 1 grandson, Michael Montana Wilson; and granddaughter Mischa Lindsay Hill.

Peggy is survived by Denny Pittman (Winnie), Mary Lindsay (Mark), Johnny Pittman (Sharron), Sandra Wilson (Mike), and Sabrina Pittman Ladner; her grandchildren, Trea Pittman, Matt Lindsay, Lenzy Chaffin, Dusty Pittman, Cody Pittman, Melissa Clifford, Shelton (DJ) Ladner, Shelby Ladner; 10 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; nephew, David Hammett; niece, Kathy Armstrong; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was born in Biloxi, MS, on January 21, 1934, to her parents Son and Burnice Torries. Peggy was one of nine children. She was married to her husband Denver Leroy Pittman for 67 years. Peggy had 5 children of her own. She was proud of her Christian faith. Peggy attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Saucier Christian Fellowship. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her morning walks, bingo, crossword puzzles, game shows, and football, specifically the Saints. Also, not a day went by that she didn’t chew her bubble gum.

As her family, we were blessed and loved by the best mother and grandmother. She will forever be in our hearts and missed dearly.

A visitation will be held, 5-8pm, Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport. A funeral service will be a 2pm, Friday, March 4, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport. Interment is at Torries Cemetery.
