On Sunday, February 14, 2021, the Lord saw fit to call Peggy Ann Lee home at the age of 68. With the love of her life by her side, she passed away from an unexpected heart attack. Peggy was born on August 24, 1952 in Bay St. Louis, MS to Charlie and Elouise Hoda, the fifth of eight children. She was a resident of Kiln, MS.
In 1970, Peggy said, “Yes!” to Reggie Lee. 50 years later, their family includes Jeremie Lee (Diana), Jacob Lee, Gina Delaughter (Jason), Ginger McGoey (Dane), Rachel Lichtenstein (Mark) and Melanie Howard (Nick); along with grandchildren Jared Delaughter (Kirsten), Micaela Conner, Kaitlynn McGoey, Amaris McGoey, Zachary Conner, Seth Conner, Aryonna Lichtenstein, Caleb Delaughter, Madalyn Shiyou, Aydon Lichtenstein, Carson Howard, Ava Lichtenstein, and Noah Lee; her siblings, Charles Hoda, Shirley Dubuisson (Julius), Jane Hanshew, Joan Ladner (Ronnie), John Hoda (Mary), Billy Hoda, and Keith Hoda (Julie); and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Elouise Hoda; a sister, Charlotte Necaise; and a seventh child.
Peggy could always be found sitting under the trees reading her Bible. Her heart delighted in the sunset on the backdrop of the brilliantly painted sky and she believed it was most stunningly displayed in the reflection of her pond. She found unending beauty in the nature God set before her eyes. In springtime, her yard was adorned with an array of colorful flowers.
Her home was the setting for holidays that she made into memorable events. The Fourth of July exploded with sounds of fireworks and Grandma Peggy’s frantic cries for the grandchildren to be careful in the pond. Thanksgiving and Christmas meals with an excessive amount of food were not a product of poor planning. Rather, it was strategic planning so that everyone would return for days after.
Peggy treasured each person God placed in her family and embraced every moment with them. She was sure to let everyone know how much she enjoyed his or her company. She loved her grandchildren immensely. The grandsons teased her about playing favorites because she was always out shopping with the granddaughters, but truly time spent with her made one believe he or she was the favorite.
She will be forever remembered for her love and the many, many words she used to express that love.
Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort that she is home with God.
Visitation is from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, February 21, 2020 followed by a service at 2pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, MS. A graveside service will be held in Standard Sandhill Cemetery.
