Margaret F. 'Peggy' Harper, age 82, of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2007 in Ocean Springs, MS.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Mack M. Harper, Sr, her sister, Kay Parham, her brother, Bobby Parham, and her parents, Robert J. Parham and Kathleen S. Parham.
She is survived by her sister, Doris McCrite of Albany Indiana, her daughter, Kathy Holcomb and her husband, David, of Pensacola, her son, Tom Harper and his wife, Sue, of Dayton, OH, her son, Mack M. Harper, Jr. and his wife, Mitzi, of Ocean Springs, her daughter, Eileen Mace and her husband, Tom, of Houston, TX, her son, Jeff Harper of Gulfport; her grandchildren, Rebecca and Don Carter, Ryan Pique, Chris Holcomb, Rachel Harper, Erin Mace, Michael Harper, Emily Mace, and Lindsey Harper; and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in law and brothers-in-law.
Peggy was born in Jackson, TN on October 30, 1924 and moved to Gulfport in 1965. Her home was destroyed during Katrina and she lived in Pensacola until January, 2007. She moved back to Gulfport at that time and later moved to Ocean Springs to be near her son, Mack and his family. Peggy graduated from Fulton, Kentucky, High School in 1943.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, wife, and sister, and we will miss her very much. She kept her sense of humor until the end. God Bless and keep you, Momma.
Peggy's family would like to give special thanks to the staff (Mary, Pat, Sherry, Katherine, and Annie) of the Dorchester Assisted Living Home in Ocean Springs, for their loving care; to Sister Mary Kealy of St. John's Catholic Church; Joyce Mathews of Gulfport; Father Thomas White of Ocean Springs; Ann Moore and Richard Oliver of Gulf Coast Hospice; and Father Eugene Casserly of Little Flower Parish in Pensacola, FL.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, Gulfport. Interment will follow at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery in Gulfport.
