Peggy Ann Fitzgerald

Peggy Ann Fitzgerald, age 78, of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and retired from Keesler AFB after 30 years of civil service. Peggy joined the Loyal Order of the Moose in 1980 and was a member of the D'Iberville Lodge #332. Peggy's passion was the Moose Lodge and its principles and she earned the Academy of Friendship Degree which is a higher degree with the Women of the Moose. She was also an appointed officer as a Guide to help appointed Offices and Chairman's Chairs. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Rouge Chapeau Chapter and she attended the Woolmarket Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, SMSGT John J. Fitzgerald, Jr., USAF Retired, and a sister, Betty Hernandez.
Survivors include her children, Kathleen Fitzgerald, Ocean Springs and Colleen Fitzgerald Cummings and her husband Burt, Maryland, 3 grandchildren, Burt, Amanda, and Ryan, 1 great-grandchild, Gilliana, her granddog, Hubbell, and many close friends and other relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Woolmarket, where friends may visit from 10:30 - 12 noon. Interment will be in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
