Mrs. Pearl Stewart, age 95, and a resident of Biloxi, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Taylorsville, MS and at the age of one week she moved to Covington County in a horse and buggy. She was a resident of Hattiesburg for 22 years, a Biloxi resident for 53 years, and for the last 4 years she was blessed and cared for by the wonderful caregivers at Lakeview Nursing Home in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stewart was a Charter Member of the Bay Vista Baptist Church in Biloxi, she was a co-founder of the Crusaders Group at her church, and loved her beloved Sunday School Class at Bay Vista. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Stewart, and her son, Garvis Stewart.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Pat (Billy) Skellie, of Long Beach; her daughter-in-law, Dot Stewart of Ridgeland, MS; sister, Ruby Stringer, of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Cappi (Dave) Leonard of Allen, TX, Debbie (Russell) Aldrich, of Madison, MS, Griff Skellie and Ashley Skellie, both of Long Beach; great-grandchildren, Kellie Huff, Leslie White, both of TX, Jordan and Lindsay Aldrich, of Madison, MS, Alex and Taylor Skellie, of Long Beach; two great-great grandchildren, T.J. Huff and Haylie White, of TX.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd,. Biloxi, from 8:45 AM until 9:45 AM.
A graveside service will follow at 10:00 AM at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bay Vista Baptist Church, 2485 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.
