Pauline Hilma Crosby Martin, 81, of Gulfport, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 surrounded by loved ones after a couragious battle with several illnesses.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of D'Iberville. Mrs. Martin was a devoted wife and mother. She was a bus driver for Harrison County Schools for many years. She was also a Daily Herald and Sun Herald paper carrier for more than 20 years, where she received numerous awards. Mrs. Martin was a volunteer for MHG Hospice, and Community Hospice. She served the patients as well as the hospice staff.
Mrs. Martin was preceeded in death by her husband of 45 years, Frank V. Martin; father, Wiley Crosby; mother, Jessie Williams; stepfather, Otis Williams; her brothers, C.B. """"Butler"""" Crosby, Condee """"Tiny"""" Crosby and Gerald Crosby; her sisters, Hazel Coleman and Betty DeSharnais.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Millwood and husband David of Starkville, Hope Redmond and husband, Bidwell of Saucier, Theresa """"Terrie"""" Walker and husband James of Gulfport, and Felicia """"CC"""" Martin and partner Mary Husley of Gulfport; grandchildren, Joe (Renee) Millwood, of Birmingham, AL, Randy (Mandy) Millwood, of Cheboygan, MI, Victoria and Brittany Redmond of Saucier, Michelle Walker of Kansas City, MO, Douglas Crosby of Pass Christian, Breanne and Chase Husley of Gulfport, Kayla Bunte of Biloxi; great grandchildren, Spencer Millwood of Cheboygan, MI; sister, Christine Dedeaux; brother, Jimmy Williams; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends, Special friend, Margie Richards of Gulfport and loyal companion Sparky.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful team of doctors, nurses, aides, respiratory, physical therapy, and transport staff of Memorial Hospital of Gulfport. Our special thanks to Dr. Joel Burwell, Debby Eaker and MHG hospice who helped to fulfill her last wish to go home.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 22, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Bayou View Baptist church, burial will follow at Finley Cemetery.
