Paul William Schmedicke, age 82, passed away in Biloxi on October 16, 2018. He was born July 11, 1936, in Lisle, NY.
Paul attended Whitney Point High School and San Antonio College. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United State Air Force following a career in Hospital Administration. Paul then had a career in federal civil service.
Mr. Schmedicke was an avid bass fisherman with the San Antonio Mission City Bass Club, competing in city, state, and national tournaments. He belonged to the Blue Lake Golf Club in Marble Falls, TX, and the Biloxi Sunkist Country Club where he enjoyed golfing with the Sandbaggers and the camaraderie after each round. Paul was a Mason with the Texas #8 Lodge in San Antonio, TX and a member of the Ocean Springs First Baptist Church.
Mr. Schmedicke was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Agnes Schmedicke; four brothers, Karl, Alan, Glen, and Joel; and his beloved son, Steve.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Schmedicke; one son, Ron (Isabel), of San Angelo, TX; five grandchildren, Linda (Chris) McCombs, of San Antonio, TX, Donna Gilliam, of Corpus Christi, TX, Eric (Erin) Schmedicke, of San Angelo, TX, Brandy (Jason) Dunham, of San Angelo, TX, and Jeffery ( Darcy) Schmedicke, Big Lake, TX; and ten great-grandchildren, Lori, Lexy, Sloan, Persephone, Jason, Ian, Leland, Steven, Liam, and Brett.
At Paul's request, there will not be a public funeral. He wants his family and friends to remember his happy day.
The family sincerely thanks all of his doctors and especially the fantastic staff of the Keesler USAF Medical Center.
