Senior Chief Paul Joseph, Jr, 75 of Gulfport died Saturday, May 27, 2006 in Gulfport.
He was a native of Harrisburg, PA and was a resident of the coast for 30 years. He retired as a Senior Chief from the U.S. Navy after 31 years of service. He also retired after 20 years from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department where he was a deputy and spent sveral years on Beach Patrol. He was a lifetime member of Joe Graham Post 420, Steelton, PA, a member of numerous police organizations. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge in the Phillipines and in Harrisburg, PA. Mr. Joseph collected tools, was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling with his wife. He proudly served two terms in Vietnam with the Navy. Mr. Joseph enjoyed being with others and serving his community. He lived a full life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Myrtle Myers; and 2 brothers, Arbel C. Bongart and Ham Joseph.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Joseph, Gulfport; 1 daughter, Barbara (Jack) Lizana, Virginia Beach, VA; 1 granddaughter, Miss Barbara Lizana; 1 sister, Annamary Joseph, Harrisburg, PA; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 6 -8 pm at Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Inc. Three Rivers Rd. Chapel.
The funeral service will be Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
