Paul M. """"Paw Paw"""" Ballard, age 70 and a resident of Biloxi, died Saturday, January 26, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mr. Ballard was a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, and retired as M/Sgt. after 21 years in the U. S. Air Force. He also retired from the Biloxi Police Department after 20 years service, and was currently employed as Safety Driving Instructor with Mississippi Safety Training Systems. He was a member of New Life Family Church.
Mr. Ballard was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Florida Ballard. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ballard, of Biloxi; children, Christy Moseley and husband, Frank; Vicki Hancock and husband, Phil; Barbra Finley and husband, Eddie, all of Biloxi; and Richard Neal and wife, Brandy, of Ocean Springs; siblings, Charles Ballard and wife, Peggy, of California; Bill Ballard, Marie Ford, and Pauline Ballard, all of Atlanta, Georgia; and grandchildren, Robert Gafford, Jimmy Finley, Meagan Duncan, Matthew Finley, Raustin Neal, Madison Neal, and Abriell Autumn-Ballard Neal.
Paul will be greatly missed by family, many friends, """"adopted"""" family members, and his dear furry critters. He will be remembered as a very loving, caring, and unselfish husband, father, Paw Paw, Gramps, and friend.
Friends may visit the Ballard family at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at New Life Family Church on Popps Ferry Road in Biloxi. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Biloxi. Honors will be provided by the Biloxi Police Department and Keesler Air Force Base Honor Guard.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507; or to Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.
