Patsy Woodall, age 76, of Gulfport, MS., passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Canon Hospice in Gulfport, MS. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Pasty was preceded in death by her father, Wilmer Smith; mother, Mattie Smith; her husband, Gary Woodall; and her brother, Sonny Smith.
Pasty is survived by her 3 sons, Jimmy Parker (Shannon), Jerry Parker (Pam), and Joey Parker; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Parker, Cody Parker, Justin Parker, and Joseph Shelton; 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Doris Pledger; her sister Ouida (Soupie) Giddings; and her brother Jimmy Smith.
Pasty was born in Brookhaven, MS. on September 30, 1945, to the late Wilmer Smith and Mattie Smith. When she was a young girl, she moved with her family to Shreveport, LA., and in 1969 she moved to Hattiesburg, MS. She had 3 sons that she loved dearly and spoke of often. She loved watching her boys play baseball and football when they were young.
Patsy married Gary Woodall in 1991 and they shared many adventures together; from driving big rigs across the country to fishing. As her children grew older, their hobbies changed. She and Gary could be found at the racetrack watching Jimmy race or Jerry and Joey singing karaoke.
Patsy worked for First Student as a bus driver until she could no longer, due to her illness. She loved riding the roads to see her sons. Patsy would tell you she didn’t like to talk on the phone but was on it constantly while driving. Thank goodness for hands-free phones. If she wasn’t on the phone, it was old country music. She didn’t like that new fangle stuff.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport is assisting the family with arrangements.
