Father and husband, Patrick M. Heines, passed away on January 21, 2022, at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with pneumonia. Despite the pain, Patrick stayed strong until the end at the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving wife, Dorothy and his daughters, Rebecca Shoemaker and Michelle Monk.
Patrick was a hard worker and provided a full life to his wife and children. He was a business owner, a fantastic salesman with an unbelievable work ethic that he passed on to his children. Patrick was always there for his family and friends, and he believed deeply in teaching his kids the value of family and taking care of each other.
The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Patrick. He loved hunting with his sons-in-law (Ronnie and Kevin). He adored the water and spent many summers on our family’s boat fishing with his son, Rocky and enjoying boat trips to Ship Island with his children. He adored his grandchildren a spent many days riding them around on his four-wheeler and playing in the pool. Patrick had a green thumb and grew an amazing summer and winter garden every year that everyone took joy in. His smile and laugh were contagious, and he had a great sense of humor. Patrick loved the New Orleans Saints, and he was thrilled to see them win the Super Bowl in 2009.
Patrick met the love of his life, Dorothy, in New Orleans in 1969 and they spent 51 years loving each other and teaching their children what love and friendship and commitment are about.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 4 daughters; Rebecca Shoemaker, Michelle Monk, Bonnie Finnie and Celeste Miller; 2 sons, Louis Heinsz and Michael Heines; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Patrick is also survived by one sister, Sheila St. Amant. And loved spouses Sandy Heinsz, Kevin Shoemaker, and Ronnie Monk.
Patrick chose to have his family enjoy an intimate celebration of life at his home where his wife, children and grandchildren will eat, listen to his favorite music, and remember him as he was – a wonderful loving husband, and an awesome loving dad and Paw paw.
