On Sunday, August 15th, 2021, Patricia Jean Williams, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed at the age of 74 in Gulfport, MS to be with our Lord.
Patsy was born on May 18th, 1947 to Earnest “Buddy” Jakins Sr. and Imogen (Hitt) Jakins. She graduated from Ocean Springs High School in 1965. She attended a local business school in Gulfport where she studied finance. Around the same time, she married Hubert “Jr” Williams, Jr. on September 11, 1966. They spent 55 wonderful years together raising their son, Bryan Keith Williams and resided in Gautier, MS for 44 years.
Patsy’s career in business and finance started soon after marriage when she worked as a teller at what was then called Coast Federal in Gulfport. But in 1970, she found a home at First Federal Savings and Loan in Pascagoula, MS and worked with them until she retired in early 2017. In those 47 years, she used her intelligence and dedication to work her way up to a Vice President. She loved what she did and became lifelong friends with not only her coworkers but with her customers as well.
Patsy loved sewing and creating crafts with her granddaughter Olivia and adored every minute with her. If she wasn’t sewing, Patsy was using her talented cooking skills to make food for either her First Federal family or for own family and friends. She enjoyed LSU game days with her son and spending time with her dogs, Shelby and Buddy. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family especially during the holidays when she prepared feasts for all and no one left hungry. She was a kind hearted soul that always looked for the good in everyone and made everyone feel welcomed and loved in her presence.
Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Jr” Williams, Jr. She is also preceded in death by her parents Earnest “Buddy” Jakins Sr. and Imogen (Hitt) Jakins and also her father-in-law, Hubert Williams, Sr. and mother-in-law, Luly (Krohn) Williams. She is survived by her son, Bryan Keith Williams and his wife Rachel (Roberts) Williams and her granddaughter, Olivia Alecee Kelsey Williams of Ocean Springs, MS. Also she is survived by her brothers, Bucky, George, Bill and John Jakins, and her sisters Janelle (Jakins) Schwark and Helen Jakins. She will be missed dearly by her-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends and anyone that knew her.
Riemann Family Funeral Homes will be servicing the family. No formal services will be held at this time. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, her father and mother in the Bellande Cemetery in Ocean Springs, MS.
