Patricia Carol Pitts

Patricia Carol Pitts, age 60 and a resident of Long Beach, died on Thursday, January 5, 2012, in Gulfport after fighting a long and courageous battle with primary peritoneal cancer.
Carol was a lifelong resident of Long Beach and was a graduate of Long Beach High School and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received honors. She was employed with Mississippi Power Company for 30 years as an executive secretary. She expressed her love and affection to all of her friends with whom she worked with.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse M. Pitts and her brother, Stephen J. Pitts.
Carol is survived by her mother, Virginia Norton Pitts of Long Beach; her brother, Alan (Catherine) Pitts of Forest; her nephews, Jeffery (Fran) Pitts, Christopher (Maria) Pitts; her great nieces, Nikki Triplett and Avery Pitts; her great nephews, Devan Pitts and Brayden Pitts all of Forest and her beloved canine companion, Bailey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 4:30pm-6:30pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at 2:30pm in the funeral home chapel, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Long Beach.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Allison Wall, Nurse Vicky, and all the staff at Memorial Hospital Oncology Infusion Clinic in Gulfport.
