Patricia Ann Pearson

Patricia “Pat” Ann Pearson, 80 of Gulfport, MS passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on May 16, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1944, in Tallahassee, FL to the late William “Bill” and Maryann Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Pat was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. In addition to her family, she had a great love and devotion to God. Through her church and ministry work, she often found ways to help people in need. She volunteered her time delivering food during the holidays, gathering donations for families, donating coats and blankets, and more. In addition to her time and efforts, she provided those she helped with empathy and love. Church gave Pat the opportunity to enjoy another great passion of hers: music. In Church, she enjoyed singing and playing her tambourine. She also shared her love for music and dancing with her loved ones. Whether it was dancing with her husband or taking a drive and listening to music with her daughter. Pat also found great joy in writing poetry. She has left behind many poems for her family to cherish. She took great pride in her home and yard and enjoyed taking care of her plants and flowers.

She and her husband Kirk met more than 27 years ago in church and shared a beautiful relationship. Their special song for each other was “God Gave Me You”. We know that Pat would have been incredibly appreciative and touched by the love, care, and time Kirk devoted to her in the end. Pat’s daughter, Trisha, was the light and joy of her life. They had their own special songs, including “You Are My Sunshine” and “Wind Beneath My Wings”. Pat had her way of making sure you knew how much she loved you. Anytime you left her house she would stand outside waving the “I love you” hand sign to you while she watched you drive away. She was a very strong and loving individual who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Kirk Pearson; daughter and son-in-law, Trisha and Mark Welch; grandchildren, Laura Seymour, Sarah Seymour, Warren Seymour III, Brittany Necaise, and Hunter Welch. Pat also leaves behind a host of friends and extended family to cherish her memory. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport (11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport). A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport. 

Memorials in Patricia’s honor can be made to the Animal Humane Society of South Mississippi.
