Patricia Fay Nix

On April 18, 2023, Patricia Fay Dodge-Nix passed away at age 92 after a brief illness and hospitalization.

Patricia was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL.  She would proudly boast about how big of an Alabama fan she was. “Roll Tide” she would say.  She was an avid golfer; of which she won many tournaments over the years, also a quilter and baker.  She was well known for her wonderful red velvet cakes.  But the most important thing to her was that she was the mother to 5 wonderful children, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her first husband, Jennings Bryan Dodge, Jr.; her second husband, Richard Nix; her eldest son, Bryan Steven Dodge; her parents, Richard and Irene Johnson, Sr.; her brothers, Richard Johnson, Jr. and John Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Alan Dodge, Dale Dodge (Elizabeth), Jeff Dodge (Mary), and Diane Smith (Billy); her 9 grandchildren; her 12 great grandchildren; and her 7 great great grandchildren.

While her family grieves the loss of Patricia, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her spirit.  We invite the community to join them in a Celebration of Life ceremony.  It will take place at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM.

The family is asking everyone to wear something with crimson red in it in Patricia’s honor (optional).
