Patricia “Pat” Ann (Vogan) Frank, age 80, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, Mississippi. Pat Frank, affectionately called “Patty Cake”, was born January 1, 1940, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Jesse Raymond and Hazel Delphina Vogan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 of her siblings, Esther Orr (and husband George), Gilbert Sigworth, Jesse Raymond Vogan, Jr., and Sandra Ciko.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ernie Frank, her 4 children, Beth Corder (and husband Ron), Bruce Frank, Erik Frank, and Heidi Frank; her youngest sister, Gloria Henton; sister-in-laws, Jean Vogan and Kay Johnson (and husband Bob); and many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from nursing school as a Registered Nurse (RN) and worked in the nursing field her whole career, eventually retiring from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. She was a very active member of Bible Baptist Church in Gulfport, MS, since 1972, where she loved singing in the choir, teaching children of all ages, participating in women’s ministries, and serving faithfully, continually giving of herself whenever needed. More recently, she was a dedicated volunteer at BEAMS Bible Ministry, which has been one of her most fulfilling activities during her retirement.
She thoroughly enjoyed road trips – from 1 mile to 1000 – with her husband, family and friends. She was an avid reader, who cherished her mornings on the front porch swing with her bible, newspaper, or a good book, and a cup of coffee. She loved to capture every moment in pictures, of anyone, anything, at anytime and anywhere – whether you were ready or not! She learned to be quick with the DVR so she wouldn’t miss Jeopardy or the Price Is Right, yet still take time for the ones she loved. She collected tons of recipes, but talked more about them than she cooked. The nature around her home, especially the humming birds and squirrels, were her delight. Her sense of humor and constant laughter was addictive to all who was around her.
In Lieu of Flowers, the Family requests donations be made to: BEAMS Bible Ministry.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Bible Baptist Church, Gulfport, with a visitation from 1:00 PM until the service. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 10:00 AM.
