Pat Rush Benigno, a cherished member of the Gulfport community, passed away on June 2, 2024 in her hometown. Pat found immense joy in owning Celebrations Catering Company and playing a significant role in numerous special occasions along the coast. Her passion for cooking was evident in the love and dedication she poured into her craft.
Not only was Pat a culinary artist, but she also had a talent for painting gulf coast wildlife and sea creatures. Her creative spirit extended beyond her kitchen to the canvas, where she captured the beauty of nature with every brushstroke. In her later years, Pat generously shared her artistic skills by teaching painting to her fellow residents at the Care Center, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.
Pat's love for adventure led her to embark on 18 cruises throughout her lifetime. It was during these voyages that she cultivated lasting friendships with fellow travelers, enriching her life with diverse experiences and memories. Among all the destinations she visited, Cozumel held a special place in Pat's heart, a sanctuary where she found solace and serenity.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pat will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She is survived by her children, Kelly Rush Frazier (Alan) and Paul Benigno (Linda), as well as her beloved granddaughter, Emily Greene. Pat leaves behind two sisters, Billie Kees and Leah Clayton.
A Celebration of Life service in honor of Pat will be held on June 8, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport from 9:00 AM ~ 11:00 AM. The event will serve as a testament to the vibrant life she led and the profound impact she had on those around her. May Pat's legacy continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
