Pasquala Giuffria

Pasquala Joseph Giuffria, age 89, resident of Gulfport, died, Sunday, May 27, 2007 in Gulfport.
Mr. Giuffria was baptized a Catholic in 1918 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach and was a lifelong resident of the Coast. He was known to be a family man with a great sense of humor. He and his brothers spent many days playing practical jokes on one another. Mr. Giuffria served in the US Army and was a Veteran of World War II where he served in Italy. He and his wife, Mildred, formerly operated a bus station in Forest, MS. He had been employed at the Friendship House in Biloxi. He enjoyed golf in his younger years and fished with his brothers around the barrier islands, of which were reached by sea plane. He was a former member of the Lion's Club and retired in 1985 as public works contract manager with the civil service at the Navy Base in Gulfport.
Mr. Giuffria was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Smith Giuffria, whom he met at the garment factory on 28th Street in Gulfport; his parents, Joseph Louis and Mary Elizabeth Stupack Giuffria; twin brother, Louis Giuffria and brother, Eugene Giuffria.
He is survived by his sons, Greg Giuffria and his wife April of Las Vegas, Clay Giuffria and his wife Cynthia of Gulfport; daughter, Rhonda Raye and her husband Bradley of Gulfport; sister, Felicia Giuffria Verdigets of Long Beach; brothers, Salvador Giuffria of Long Beach, Joseph Giuffria of Long Beach, Peter Giuffria of Birmingham, AL and Guy Giuffria of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Zachary Meier of Houston, TX, Baron Giuffria of Las Vegas, NV and Bach Giuffria Stabile of CA.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at The Riemann family's GULF COAST FUNERAL HOMES, Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
