Pansy Whitaker "Pat" Ward

Pansy ""Pat"" Whitaker Ward, passed away on May 24, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born in Bainbridge, GA on August 8, 1917 to the late Buck and Ollie Whitaker. Pat was a graduate of Fort Myers High School and went on to graduate from Lakeland Beauty College. She was a licensed cosmetologist and owned and operated Pat's Beauty Shop in LaBelle, FL for 60+ years. Pat married Archie Ward on May 24, 1938.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Archie Ward; parents, Buck and Ollie Whitaker; and eight siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Pilgrim and her husband Wimpy of Gulfport; her grandchildren, Gaile Dupree and husband Jacob of Salt Lake City, UT and Joey Pilgrim and wife Jennifer of Perkinston, MS; great grandchildren, Celeste and Ty Pilgrim of Perkinston, Lauren and Addison Dupree of Salt Lake City, UT; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm, on Friday, May 25, 2012 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A reception will immediately follow at Bel-Aire Baptist Church in Gulfport.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Denaud Cemetery, 1170 Cemetery Road, LaBelle, FL at 4:00 pm, Sunday May 27, 2012. A reception will immediately follow at First Baptist Church of LaBelle, 330 North Main Street, LaBelle, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bel-Aire Baptist Church or First Baptist Church of LaBelle.
