Otts Gordon Loposser, Jr, age 80, of Gulfport, passed away on March 31, 2025.

Otts was the son of Otts G Loposser, Sr. and Mae Broadus Loposser of Handsboro, MS. He was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Otts is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nancy Loposser Pfluger Goodlett, and his niece, Tammy Pfluger Kimbro. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally Eastes Loposser; a son, Chris (Candice) Loposser; grandchildren Tyler Loposser of Gulfport, MS and Kate (Sam) Largen of Hattiesburg, MS; and a nephew, Wayne (Shelly) Pfluger.

In his youth, Otts was an accomplished athlete playing football, basketball and running track. He attended West Gulfport Jr High and Gulfport High School where he received many awards for his athletic accomplishments. He was a graduate of GHS Class of 1964 and a member of the 1963 Mississippi Big 8 Co-Championship football team. After graduating high school, he received a scholarship and played football for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston Campus.

Upon leaving college, he enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served for six years, notably during the recovery period after Hurricane Camille. Otts was electrician by trade worked at several local companies during his career. During his life, he was a member of Local IBEW #903 , Polar Star Lodge #154, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, the Joppa Shrine Temple, and the Bender Lane Hunting Club. He was also a member of Handsboro Baptist Church.

Otts had a great passion for his family, his Gulfport High School classmates, golf, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed life with an abundance of laughter. Always leaving those around him with a smile. He will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 11:00 to 1:30 at Handsboro Baptist Church, 1421 East Pass Rd, Gulfport, MS 39501 [google.com] The family would like to thank the staff at Lake View Nursing Home for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Handsboro Baptist Church or a charity of your choice in his memory.
