Otis "Buster" Beech

d. February 11, 2022

Long Beach

Otis Lynn “Buster” Beech, age 89 of Long Beach, MS. passed away surrounded by family on Friday, February 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Barbara Beech, parents Hubert and Annie Beech, and his sister Cleo Sasser. Although, he left this earthly physical life on February 11, 2022, he said “that his heart died when Barbara died on April 25, 2018.”

Buster is survived by his children Deborah (Keith) Alexander, Angela (Tommy) Koenenn, Elizabeth (Scott) Tyner and Jesse (Jane) Beech; 8 Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great – grandchild; his two brothers Jerry (Zola) Beech and Jack (Dolly) Beech and  many numerous nieces, nephews and friends old and new alike.

Buster joined the National Guard at 15, completed boot camp and stayed until they found out how old he was. Upon high school graduation he joined the United States Navy and served for 4 years.

Buster worked for Entex/Centerpoint Energy as a service man for 38 years. At one point he had total recall of addresses all along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Dad was an avid gardener and grower of all things! Upon retirement he took up wood working and made many rocking chairs and “football” tables. He had a desire to have a rocking chair with his “Suits Me” label on it in every state. Dad wanted to be friends with everyone and helped many people along the way. He was a great Husband and Dad who loved his kids and grandkids dearly. He was a faithful Christian for the majority of his life and attender of Antioch Baptist Church in Long Beach at the time of his passing but had been an active member of several local congregations throughout his life. Dad loved the Lord. Dad had many long-term friends, but always enjoyed making new ones. He loved his extended family, especially his cousins. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him, but it was surely a life well lived!
