Otis Bufkin

Otis “Dean” Bufkin, age 68, passed away March 28, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Rivers Bufkin, Jr.; his grand daughters, Addyline Marie Bufkin and Shelby Ann Hickman.; his sister, Wanda Gail Cooley.

Dean is survived by his mother Shelby Jean Alexander; his children, Laura Duckworth (Pink Jr.), Caroline Hickman (Phillip), Joshua Bufkin (Cierra), and Marcus “Creed” Howell; his siblings, Dexter Bufkin, Jerry Bufkin (Care), and James “Jed” Dixon (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Pink III, Zachary, Steven, Emily, and Wyatt Duckworth, Abigail and Allison Hickman, Izabella, Jannelle, and Annalise Bufkin, and Serge Howell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean was a native of Lucedale, MS and a current resident of Gautier, MS. He had an associates degree in Drafting and Design. Dean was a member of Ramsay Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, tinkering and he could fix anything. He was a Master Mason at St. Charles Lodge #445, F&AM.

Pall bearers will be Joshua Bufkin, Pink Duckworth III, Zachary Duckworth, Steven Duckworth, Dexter Bufkin, Jerry Bufkin, James Dixon, and Phillip Hickman. The honorary pall bearers will be Pink Duckworth, Jr., and Jerry Micha Bufkin, Jr.

A visitation will be held 9-11am, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Ramsay Hill Baptist Church. A funeral service will be after the visitation at 11am. Interment will be at Ramsay Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
