Otha Thompson

Otha "Leroy" Thompson, Jr., age 76 passed away on January 19, 2018 in Gulfport, MS where he was a lifelong resident.
He worked 9 ½ years with the Harrison County Sherriff's Department and later became owner/operator of Leroy's ABC Bail Bonds and owner of Thompson's/JT's Wrecker Service. Leroy was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, and in his free time he enjoyed dirt track racing at Sun Coast Speedway, building racing cars, fishing, and hunting.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, Otha Leroy Thompson, Sr. and Vera Owen Thompson; and his brother, Lyman Jackson "L.J." Holland.
He leaves behind his wife, Courtney Clippinger Thompson; five children, Oakley "Rusty" Thompson (Robyn), Bradley Thompson (Lisa), Cynthia Eighmey (Walter), Jeremy Thompson (Hillary), Nicholas Thompson (Amanda); 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Janet Thompson and Gail Davenport (Mitchell).
The family wishes to especially thank the doctors and staff at St. Joseph Hospice for their excellent care.
The visitation will be held from 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10 A.M. with a visitation from 9 A.M. until the service in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Allen Cemetery, Long Beach.
