Opal Martz

Opal V. Martz, age 96, of Long Beach, MS passed away on July 28, 2008 in Long Beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert A. Martz; her parents, John David Harper and Lucinda E. Harper; three brothers, Charley, Floyd, and Maxie Harper; and six sisters, Florence Stevens, Grace Kerens, Effie Kerens, Lella Caplinger, Orpha Taylor, and Blanche Egleson.
She is survived by two daughters, Clara Jane Grimes and Linda Sample and her husband, James; six grandchildren, Robert Grimes, Gary Grimes and his wife, Maria, Dale Grimes and his wife, Samantha, Michael Grimes and his wife, Patricia, Gerri Grimes, and Ashley Fimiano and her husband, Dominick; and eleven great grandchildren.
A native of Alpenia, WV and a longtime resident of Cresaptown, MD, she was a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was employed at the Celanese Corporation while living in Cresaptown.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 2:30 PM at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown where friends may visit from 12:30 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
