Opal Faye Bond Compton, age 73, of Saucier, passed away on March 19, 2012.
Mrs. Compton was born in Saucier to Jessie and Lula Mae Sauls Bond. After living most of her life in Southern California and Dallas, TX, she returned home to be with her family. Opal was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Vernon LaFontaine, Jr.; her siblings, Helen Creel and Clinton Bond; and a grandson, Nicholas Layne LaFontaine; and the father of her children, David Vernon LaFontaine, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Tomie Compton of Saucier; her children, Diana Faye Wilson Hall and her husband Kenneth Charles Hall of Mesquite, TX, Daniel Allen LaFontaine and his wife Sharon Torres of Carrollton, TX, and Deborah Lynn LaFontaine of Dallas, TX; her siblings, Jesse Bond, Myrtle Shaw, and Ronald Bond; her grandchildren, Christina Dew, Jennifer and Jeffrey Wilson, Zachary LaFontaine; and her 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 12 o'clock Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
