Mrs. Ollie Britton Jackson died October 16, 2008 in Gulfport at the age of 99, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Howe, Oklahoma on April 18, 1909 and had lived in Gulfport since 1948.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband Hilliard Earl Jackson, her parents Grant Taylor and Levina Britton, and a granddaughter, Cathy Stone.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Hover and husband John of Long Beach, and Doris Stone and huband Jack of Hattiesburg. Also surviving her are grandchildren Mike and Terri Hover of Charleston, South Carolina, Larry and Shari Stone of Houston, Texas, Debbie and Geoff Hemingway of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lisa and Greg Russell of Long Beach and six great grandchilddren; Jessica, Andrea, Tyler, Joe, Chris and Michael.
Mrs. J. was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering for the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Long Beach and the Oaks Senior Group.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral time at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Commission Road in Long Beach. Burial will follow in the Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
Pallbearers will include grandsons, Mike Hover, Larry Stone, Greg Russell and special friend, Algene Russell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First United Methodist Church of Long Beach or to a church of your choice.
