Oley Olander """"T.O."""" McKay, 82, passed away peacefully at home in Lizana with his family at his side on Sunday, August 27, 2006.
He was a high school graduate of Long Beach High School and was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding. """"T.O."""" was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardnerer who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in the great outdoors. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Lizana and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Sedonia and Oley McKay, first wife, Marie McKay, second wife, Donna Lee McKay, grandson, David Holbrook, sister, Ethel Parker and husband Tom, brothers, Johnnie McKay, Ellis McKay and wife Gladys, and Elvin McKay and wife Annie.
Survivors include his children, Cheryl Lizana and husband Scott, Rebecca Necaise and husband Donnie, Quinn McKay and wife Mandy, Coy McKay and wife Eva Gay, Andy Holbrook, Avron """"Peewee"""" Holbrook and wife Norma, Bruce Holbrook and wife Belinda and Mike Holbrook and wife Sandy; brother, Ira McKay and wife Babe; 14 grandchildren and spouses, Chance, Jarren, Brett (Patricia), Kristie (Kurt), Bradley (Kim), Melissa, Katrina (Taylor), Natasha (Garry), Byron (Cristie), Brandy (Jason), Chassidy (Damien), Cody, and Scott (Debbie)Chris (Lori), Brian (Debbie); 17 great-grandchildren: Peyton, Felicia, Sierra, Hannah, Bricen, Brodie, Taylor, Olivia, Braxton, Blar, Caitlyn, Derek, Allison, Kaleigh, B.J., Amanda, and Matthew; and 3 loving daughters-in-law: Linda McKay, Diane Holbrook, and Debbie Holbrook; and numerous other family members.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2006 from 6 -9 pm at Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Inc., Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lizana.
Interment will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
