Odile Jeffers

Odile “Tiny” A. Jeffers, age 91 of Gulfport, MS, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony R. Jeffers; her father, Allen Cantrelle; her mother, Noella Babin; her sisters, Helen and Beulla; and two sons, Rev. Anthony J. Chuter, III and Michael A. Chuter.

Mrs. Jeffers is survived by her children, Robert (Karen) Wagon, Jr., Ricky (Linda) Chuter, Ronald (LeeAnn) Chuter, Tami Couburn, and Christopher Chuter; her siblings, Sonny Nolan, Noella “Pookie” Chaisson and Lucinda McElroy; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Tiny was born into poverty in South Louisiana during the great depression in 1930.  She was raised in the local Methodist Mission Church. Despite her humble beginnings, she achieved much in life.  She was married and widowed four times, mother of 7, grandmother of 18 with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Odile was Jr. Miss New Orleans, LA in 1945.  She loved oil paintings and arts and crafts.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Odile’s house.
